Privacy Policy

Methalo is a visual website editor: you design, and Methalo turns the design into responsive code. This policy explains what information Methalo handles, why, where it goes and what you can ask of us. We keep it short and plain, and we collect as little as we can.

Who we are

Methalo is operated by Ernest Mokwena, South Africa ("we", "us"). Questions about privacy: hello@methalo.com.

What we collect

What stays on your device

Your projects live in your browser and in the .methal files you save. Images you add are kept in your browser's storage so your projects can show them. Your sign-in session is kept in your browser so you stay signed in. We do not upload or keep copies of your projects.

What we do not do

Services we rely on

To run Methalo we use a few providers, each only for its part:

Some of these providers process data outside your country. They do so under their own security and privacy commitments.

Why we use your information

To provide Methalo to you (your account and your exports), to keep it secure and working, and to contact you about your account or important changes. We rely on your agreement when you create an account and on our legitimate interest in running a secure service.

How long we keep it

Your account stays until you ask us to delete it. Export requests are not stored. Technical request data is kept only briefly in server logs.

Your rights

You may ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete your account and its data. Email hello@methalo.com from the address on your account and we will act on it. If you are in South Africa you also have rights under POPIA, and in the EU or UK under the GDPR, including the right to complain to your data-protection authority.

Children

Methalo is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes we will let account holders know.
